Dark Knight
I saw the Dark Knight last week! It was an amazing film!! (and I am not just saying that - I am cautious about complementing flashy action films.) The pacing, the storytelling, the acting and the subtleties were phenomenal. From the strange, creepy, murderous personality of the Joker who the late Heath Ledger portrays to the finely-tweaked dramatic effect of the musical score, parts of which are reminiscent of The Prestige. (which was also directed by the amazing Chris Nolan.) I believe parts of the film were shot using the IMAX process, which should make those particular scenes distinctively vivid and sharp. (though I couldn't spot the sequences myself, since I saw it in 35mm, or digital - I don't know.) The dialog that was written for the film is also very good - almost all the lines portray something important and/or cleverly figured-out things by the characters, which keeps the audience listening. (The script was also co-written by Christopher Nolan.) The Dark Knight certainly deserves the 3-star rating it received. Here are some shots from the film:
